Mixed Flow Pump

A mixed flow pump is a kind of pump between a centrifugal pump and an axial flow pump. The specific speed of the mixed-flow pump is higher than that of the centrifugal pump and lower than that of the axial-flow pump, generally between 300-500. Its lift is higher than that of the axial flow pump, but the flow is smaller than that of the axial flow pump and larger than that of the centrifugal pump.

Working principle of mixed flow pump

When the prime mover drives the impeller to rotate, it acts on the liquid with both centrifugal force and axial thrust. It is a combination of a centrifugal pump and an axial flow pump, and the liquid flows out of the impeller obliquely. Therefore, it is a kind of pump between a centrifugal pump and an axial flow pump.

Scope of application

For conveying clean and contaminated media, chemically neutral or aggressive media.

Forced circulation in chemical processes, mariculture, urban gas engineering, and water treatment system.

Performance parameters of mixed flow pump

Flow (Q): up to 20,000 m3/h

Head (H): up to 30m

Working pressure (P): 1.0MPa

Working temperature (t): 0℃~+80℃

Design Features

The mixed-flow pump is a “pull-out” structure pump. When inspecting and disassembling the impeller and shaft seal, it is not necessary to disassemble the pipeline connected to the pump body. Equipped with precision machined pump shaft and thin oil-lubricated bearings, with protective bushings in the stuffing box cover. The oil level of the bearing housing can be controlled by the constant level oil cup.

The feet of the pump body can bear any load from the pipeline and transmit it directly to the foundation. In this way, the rotor does not bend due to the load on the pump, thus guaranteeing the best service life of the bearing.

Due to the larger flow area, clogging is reduced.

The direction of rotation of the pump, viewed from the drive end, is clockwise.

The power drive can be an electric motor or an internal combustion engine.

The pump unit can be equipped with a complete venting device to facilitate the venting of the suction line.
