NYP Gear Pump Installation And Precautions

Gear Pump, twin screw pump manufacturers

1. Foundation, pipeline, and pump room

The foundation must be strong enough to absorb the vibration of the NYP gear pump and support the unit permanently, and the foundation must be sufficient to support 2 times the weight of the unit (including the motor). Generally, reinforced concrete is used as the foundation. Anchor bolt holes are reserved on the foundation in advance. When installing the NYP gear pump, put the anchor bolts in, and then carry out secondary grouting.

Do not use the pump as pipeline support, all pipelines need to be independently supported; the outlet pipeline is generally one size larger than the pump outlet; the installation height of the suction pipe should meet the calculated value, and the elbows should be minimized to avoid excessive losses. And ensure that when the pump is working, it does not exceed its required NPSH; a gate valve and a check valve are installed between the drain pipe and the pump, and the inner diameter of the gate valve shall not be smaller than the inner diameter of the pipe.

The NYP gear pump should be installed in an appropriate position and as close as possible to the source of the pumped liquid to ensure proper space for operation, disassembly and inspection of the pump; the pump room has sufficient capacity for lifting equipment and sufficient lifting space.

2. Preparations before installation of NYP gear pump

Check the field installation equipment for damage and omissions.

Remove the grease and dirt on the foundation, and check the size of the holes reserved for the foundation anchor bolts and the levelness and flatness of the foundation.

Prepare installation tools and lifting equipment.

3. NYP gear pump installation technical requirements

Check the concentricity of the outer circle of the motor and pump coupling to correct the concentricity of the motor and pump shaft.

There is a clearance between the NYP gear pump and the motor coupling as specified in the installation drawing.

After the NYP gear pump is taken over, calibrate it again according to the above requirements.

The infusion tube has its own bracket to keep all the weight from resting on the NYP gear pump

4. NYP gear pump installation and calibration

Lift the base of the NYP gear pump, hang the anchor bolts through the base, and fix it with nuts and washers to ensure that the anchor bolts hang freely in the reserved holes. Between the base and the foundation, use a pair of wedge pads for correction. Lift the pump, drop it on the pump base, and bolt the NYP gear pump to the pump base.

Place the level on the pump shaft, adjust the level of the pump shaft by adjusting the wedge pad (less than 0.05mm/m), install the center line of the pump shaft at the correct level, and properly tighten the anchor bolts to prevent movement.

Fill the anchor bolt holes with concrete.

After the concrete is dry and solid, check whether the NYP gear pump, motor and anchor bolts are loose. If appropriate, tighten the anchor bolts and nuts, and recheck the levelness and concentricity.

After connecting the pipeline and confirming the rotation direction of the pump, check the concentricity again, and finally connect the pin of the coupling.

After 4 to 5 hours of trial operation of the unit, make a final inspection, if there is no abnormal phenomenon, it is considered that the installation is qualified.

5. NYP gear pump installation should pay attention to some details:

During the installation of the NYP gear pump, all holes should be covered to prevent debris from falling into the pump.

Confirm the rotation direction of the NYP gear pump. Improper rotation of the equipment may cause equipment damage and personal injury.

The inlet and outlet flanges of the NYP gear pump shall not bear the external force of the pipeline.
